Place in the Organisation
The incumbent of this post reports administratively and technically to the Head, Design Unit through the Architect.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares, using the AutoCAD software, all drafting works necessary for the production of site surveys, schematic designs, concept designs, master plans detailed architectural, structural, electrical& mechanical drawings and produces hard copies as necessary for further checking by supervisor;
  • Prepares diagrams, charts and simple graphic works for presentations, as required;
    • Prepares 3-dimentional presentation drawings as required;
    • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma from accredited institution in architecture, civil or structural engineering or a related discipline;
  • Formal training in computer-aided design, including 3-dimensional applications.
  • At least four years experience as a draftsman in an architectural or engineering office, using computer aided design technology;
  • Experience in building construction materials and services;
  • Experience in non-standard office equipment (those related to Engineering works, e.g. Plotter, Drawing photocopying machineetc).

  • Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.


  • Ability to take initiative and maintain cordial relationship with all concerned;
  • Ability to make presentation of information;
  • Ability to work under pressure.


Formal training in computer-aided design, including 3 dimensional applications.

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of UNRWA Operations may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
