      Place in the Organisation
      Is responsible to the Area Education Officer and receives technical guidance from school supervisors (Audio-Visual and School Library Services).
      Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Co-ordinates the organization and administration of the centre and its use for classes, seminars, workshops, research centres and library.
    • Encourages an atmosphere of creative productivity, to ensure teacher and students use the centre continuously.
    • Controls and maintains the equipment and contents of the centre, keeping appropriate records where necessary.
    • In co-ordination with the School Supervisor (Guidance & Counseling) provides guidance and counseling training.
    • Assists the teachers in preparing their teaching aids from low cost materials and in reviewing video games available at the centre for teaching purpose.
    • Performs such other work as may be required and assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • University degree in a course of study related to the curriculum of Agency Schools.
    • Completion of a teacher training course of at least one-years duration.
    • Completion of a specialized course in Library Science or educational Technology (AVM).
    • A minimum of five years of teaching and library/AVM experience, with clearly proven leadership qualities.
    • Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

    When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of UNRWA Operations/Affairs, may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
    NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
