    Place in the Organisation
    The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Deputy Chief, Field Health Programme and through him to CFHP and provides technical guidance to all medical officers on the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Undertakes regular visits to UNRWA health centers according to a rotating schedule in order to examine treat and follow up on patients referred to him/her by medical officers.
    • Follows up to ensure that equipment and supplies are maintained and techniques are performed in accordance with standard Agency procedures.

    • Maintains records of all patients with cardiovascular diseases at each health center and provides statistical data and relevant information on such patients to the Field Office.
    • Plans and directs the in-service training of medical officers on the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases.

      • Maintains an effective system of referral to, and feed-back from, contracted and government hospitals treating refugee patients.
      • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications

    • A university degree in medicine from a university or medical school recognized by UNRWA.
    • A post-graduate degree or diploma in heart/Internist diseases.
    • A valid governmental license to practice medicine in the country of duty station.
    • A minimum of two years experience in management of cardiovascular diseases after obtaining the degree/diploma in this discipline.
    • Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
